Who are we?
SMR Organic Farm was established in 2018 by a group of individuals with a deep love for nature and extensive experience in supporting farmers and local communities. Our farm is part of a community‑rooted project located in Loka Village, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia.
The name SMR stands for Sen Monorom — the first place we arrived in Mondulkiri Province. Sen Monorom means “beautiful city.” The city was named by former King Norodom Sihanouk when he traveled across Cambodia, especially to the northeastern provinces, to understand the livelihoods of the people living in these mountain regions.
We chose the name SMR Organic Farm (Sen Monorom Organic Farm) not to compare ourselves with the city, but to honor its spirit. Our mission is to preserve beauty — keeping everything as it is, and making it even more beautiful for this generation and the next.
Let Grow for Green — A Journey Begins
We hold a strong conviction that this farm will become a model location for sharing experience and knowledge about agriculture based on natural principles and sustainability. I believe that the land we are currently utilizing will continue to be viable for use by future generations.
Facing the global challenge of climate change makes farming increasingly difficult and confronts us with various problems. Although we practice organic farming without causing impact to nature, the climate crisis does not spare our farm. However, we remain positive in our belief in what we have done and continue to implement.
